English Today and Covid 19
Dear Parents, Schools, Agents and Friends,
English Today is back in action!
Firstly, we would like to thank you all for your very welcome messages of good faith and good wishes. They have helped keep us buoyant during these Covid days.
Secondly, our good news is that we are now back running classes at English Today! This is only for 2 weeks, but it is great to get the team together and swing into action with a lively group of students again.
This time, our clients are those overseas pupils who board at Culford School but have to spend 2 weeks in quarantine on arrival in UK. So, instead of being incarcerated in a hotel room somewhere, we are running a programme of “English Enrichment and Activities” for them. It is a unique and challenging course, with extra special measures for personal protection, social distancing, daily health checks and isolated from any other people and places. It is going well and, from 1st September, they will be able to join all their classmates as Culford School returns to full lessons within the constraints of Covid rules.
We will probably operate a similar programme, but with added external visits, during the half-term break in October, because the possibilities for overseas students to return home, and come back again, will be very limited. Apart from that, thanks to some fabulous support from our landlord, Culford School, we will continue to survive until we can again welcome classes from overseas. We expect that to be sometime in the New Year. Meanwhile, John, Richard and Steven will continue to keep the show on the road and are always contactable by email.
With best wishes to all, keep fit and well, and we hope to see you again as soon as possible,
Regards,
John and the staff of English Today
