What did you do before English Today?
Before I moved to Culford to work with English Today, I was living in Japan where I taught at a university in Tokyo. I have also lived in Portugal where I worked at a private language school, and in Canada where I worked as a climbing instructor for children. I have also worked at British universities and summer schools around the U.K.

What music do you like listening to?
I enjoy a wide range of music; ranging from classical music to metal, rock and ska. My favourite bands include Coheed & Cambria, Fightstar, Muse, the Faunts, and Queen.

What’s your favourite book?
I read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi novels, and my favourite is the “Song of Ice & Fire” series of novels by George R.R. Martin (upon which the Game of Thrones TV show is based.) My favourite non-fantasy novels include “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “1984”.

What’s your favourite film?
I’m a massive film buff and my tastes are rather eclectic. My favourite directors are Luc Besson, Wes Anderson, Darren Aronofsky, and Hayao Miyazaki. That said, the best film of all time is the Lion King.

What are your interests outside English Today?
I enjoy running (I ran my first marathon in 2016.) As mentioned above, I enjoy watching movies. When I have the time (which is rarely) I enjoy playing video games, and I like looking at pictures of dogs.

If you could have one super-power, what would it be?
My superpower would be the ability to use other people’s superpowers which would be great if there were lots of other people with superpowers but useless if I was the only one with a superpower…
