EFL Teacher: Yveline Northern
I studied at Aberystwyth University on the west coast of Wales where I completed a degree in Geography in the summer of 2014. I then went straight back into education and gained my CertTESOL in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
What did you do before English Today?
I became interested in the language school sector when I became an Activity Leader in the summer holidays in between my first and second year of university. I did this role for three consecutive summers before I was promoted to Activity Manager. I then qualified as an English teacher and worked at different language schools as a Teacher and Activity Leader.
What music do you like listening to?
I like a wide variety of music ranging from dance music to Adele!
What’s your favourite book?
I love reading, which makes it impossible for me to choose one! I love the Harry Potter series, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and The Lady of the Rivers by Philippa Gregory. Please don’t make me choose…
What’s your favourite film?
Without a doubt it’s the Despicable Me films, they’re so silly!
What are you interests outside English Today?
I play netball for a local club and I have matches against other local teams every week. I also love to travel and I’m saving up for a big trip to America which will hopefully happen soon.
If you could have one super-power, what would it be?
If I had a superpower I’d like to travel through time and experience to some of the greatest historical events along with being able to go into the future to see what is going to happen next.
